Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) is a Centre of Research Excellence funded by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and hosted by The University of Auckland. NPM has 16 partner research entities, conducts research of relevance to Māori communities and is an important vehicle by which New Zealand continues to be a key player in global indigenous research and affairs. Its research is underpinned by the vision to realise the creative potential of Māori communities and to bring about positive change and transformation in the nation and wider world.
MAI Review was the journal of the former Capability Building programme of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga. Published from 2006 until 2011, all MAI Review content is still freely available online. To access this content, visit the MAI Review website.
MAI Journal is an open access journal that publishes multidisciplinary peer-reviewed articles that critically analyse and address indigenous and Pacific issues in the context of Aotearoa New Zealand. We aim to publish scholarly articles that substantively engage with intellectual indigenous scholarship. MAI Journal reflects developments in the vision and mission of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga, within the landscape of indigenous research in Aotearoa New Zealand, and builds on the legacy of MAI Review.
